This is the “I want to be an AE in 4 months” role.
My client has just raised a $25M+ Series A, launched both our individual product and our employer 401(k) product, and we’re sitting on a huge amount of untouched inbound demand — 800+ form fills a month, 1,200+ captured emails, 2–3K de-anonymised website visitors — and no one working it 1:1.
We’re hiring a Founding SDR to refine the top of the funnel, convert warm intent into meetings, and help us establish the SDR/BDR motion from scratch.
This is designed as a 90–120-day proving-ground role with a clear path to Junior AE / AE. If you crush it, you don’t stay in it long.
What you’ll do
- Work real, intent-driven leads (not 200 random cold calls/day)
- Call, email, and follow up to book 40+ meetings/month
- Qualify inbound form fills so sales can run faster
- Sit between growth and sales — you’re the human who makes the funnel work
- Join sales calls to learn the product and graduate to owning deals
- Use a modern GTM stack (Clay, Unify, Smartlead, HeyReach) and a huge data set
- Help us shape what this motion looks like — cadences, dashboards, SLAs

- Have 6–18 months in sales (SDR/BDR/Junior AE) and were top of the board

- Are charismatic on the phone (we ask for a call/voice recording in process)
- Can learn enough financial literacy to explain 401(k) + optional financing without melting
- Want to be in-office with a fast team in NYC
Comp & Structure
- Base: $80–100K (anchor 80K for ~6–12 mo SDRs; up to 100K for stronger AEs)
- OTE: $160–180K target (uncapped)
- Commission: $125 per meeting booked + 1% of closed-won from your sourced pipeline
- Full-time, on-site in SoHo
